With just over a week to the American Image Awards, we celebrate the rapid success and impactful milestones of the 2021 Fashion Maverick Award recipients - Sandrine Charles and Lindsay Peoples Wagner - of the Black in Fashion Council. They are certainly generating a lot of buzz - and catching the industry's attention about the importance and the BEAUTY of unity, inclusivity, and diversity.

Founding At-a-Glance:

 

2019: As a result of Sandrine Charles' critically-acclaimed article "What It's Like To Be Black In Fashion," and Peoples Wagner's extensive reporting skills, the duo joined forces to start The Black in Fashion Council to address the call for systemic change.

The co-founders continue to bring together a resilient group of editors, models, stylists, media executives, assistants, freelance creatives, and industry stakeholders, as they aim to build a new foundation for inclusivity!

JUNE 21:
Sandrine and Lindsay, on behalf of all of the designers they have helped inspire and propel, will accept the 2021 American Image Awards Fashion Maverick Award!
